Get long-term, sustainable results with the Alexander Technique
How the Alexander Technique works
The Alexander Technique changes unconscious habits of movement, muscle tone, and how the mind reacts to stress. These habits may look innocent enough, but repeated over a lifetime, they contribute to pain, discomfort, performance issues, and how well we age.
During a private session, the practitioner guides the client with gentle hands, giving real-time, personalized feedback. This permanently changes the way one uses oneself in daily activities.
The Alexander Technique is 100% safe for any medical condition, and a wonderful addition to everything you already do to restore and maintain your health.
Scientific research
Most complementary and alternative medicine approaches do not survive the scrutiny of evidence-based medicine. However, every time AT has been tested, it has shown a significantly greater effect than placebo.

I practice in my studio, located in Lausanne, Montelly, a mere 2 minutes’ walk from the metro station. I am fluent in French, English and Spanish.
Who I am
My name is Guillaume Bourgault. I graduated from the 3 year, 1600 hours program at the Alexander Teacher Training School (ATTS) in London. I also hold an undergraduate degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from École Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada. Before studying engineering, I was a full-time classical piano major student at Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique in Montreal. Here’s a performance of mine at an international competition for non-professionals.
Until I had my first Alexander Technique lessons, I was “a brain in a vat”: I was mostly living in my head. It was not great for piano playing. In the runup to my audition, tension accumulated, and my piano teacher recommended AT lessons. I was not prepared for such a profound experience. Not only did my piano playing become easier, but I felt better coordinated, more alive and much less stressed about life in general.
At age 30, after a lifetime of not doing sports, I went from couch to half-marathon in 4 months. A year later, I completed a full marathon. I believe the Alexander Technique helped me to remain injury-free.
